Sri Aurobindo Society
The Sri Aurobindo Society was founded in 1960 by the Mother of Sri Aurobindo Ashram to make known to the members & people in general the aims and ideals of Sri Aurobindo & the Mother, their system of Integral yoga & to work for its fulfillment in all possible ways, and for the attainment of a spiritual society as envisaged by Sri Aurobindo. The Society is an International non-governmental organization. It has been recognized by the Government of India as a charitable and research institute.
The Society has the following objectives:
– The integral growth and perfection of the individual
– Society transformation and the establishment of an environment favourable for the flowering and growth of the individual according to his/her inner most needs and truth of being.
– A united and resurgent India.
– The realization of human unity in a harmonious and organized diversity, where each nation will become conscious of its true genius and offer its best for the whole.
The Sri Aurobindo Society, Jodhpur, a registered branch of the SAS and has chosen education in Jodhpur city as its field of endeavor. It successfully ran a Nursery to Middle School from 1979-2002 which was then closed down in 2003 in anticipation of the new school project in Chokha on land allotted to us by the Government of Rajasthan.
